You'll get SysEx from the XP30, though it'll be slightly different. I've had trouble in the past regards to sending SysEx from my XP60 to Cakewalk but I've irradicated that problem by only using the enormously powerful onboard sequence on the XP60.
I think the XP30 will be no problem interfacing with the PC.

One thing players should note is that if the synth you buy doesn't have an onboard sequencer then you don't get that wonderful LIVE tool known as RPS (Realtime Phrase Sequencing) where you can action a loop on a recorded pattern by simply pressing the RPS button and the chosen key on the keyboard.
So much potential there in itself.
