OUCH. Chas. Actually, right/left brain theory is at the heart of my approach to teaching Interpersonal Communications. The focus is to get every person involved to realize how they're oriented and make them realize that, depending on where they're coming from, they're much better prepared for success in some areas than others.

People who think they don't have the brain power to succeed in one area often find they have the brain power, it's just configured like a Mac, not a PC.

The intent is to prevent people from striving and failing at things they just don't have the aptitude for.

Really satisfying work. Students even developed/refined a computer test. After the participant answers a battery of querstions, the brain is drawn out showing the percentage of activity on each side. It's bogus sience, but somewhat appropriate and fun. It gets the point across.
