Stephen,
I have figured out how to "tweak" some of the styles and managed to put together enough song choices for a short Senior Gig -about an hour or so. I was surprise how well the speakers filled the room. I still have a long way to go before playing a regular gig with it though - lots of work to do on basic setups for songs etc.. I have yet to try to mic or voice processor.
Donny,
I just stared playing again about 1 year ago after more than 30 years away from it all. I was actually a percussion major in college and played drums not piano in those days. I have not chased a lot of gigs - mostly senior jobs - I thought it would be fun to do being I am retired and have a lot of time. In the late 60's and early 70's I played just about everywhere - symphony work, musicals, big band jobs -just about everything - got tired of the 6 nights a week thing and walked away from it on a new years eve job I think it was 1975. I was asked to play at a major hotel in our area but it was a long term contract - union job. Passed on it - just didn't want to obligate myself for a year 3 nights a week. It was real tempting - union scale in Dallas and Ft. Worth for a one-man-band job is $500.00 for a 3 hour gig. Anyway - I passed on it for now.
