However, in addition to the customs duty, you will also pay the local sales taxes (GST+PST = 15% in Canada, 17% (?) VAT in the UK. The manufacturers usually try to provide warranty coverage only in the country of purchase - this is how they protect the dealers' turf. This is, of course, not fair to the customers - if the keyboard is made by, say, Korg, Korg should be required to honor its warranty obligations wherever their dealer/repair center is, but that is not how it works now. I guess with none of us touring internationally, there have been no complaints to the manufacturers.
