My position is precisely yours. I have a 2k; whilst I can see that the Tyros is seriously good I can't justify that level of expenditure. The 2.1k is not so much better than the 2k that it is worth me upgrading.

I am still wondering about getting one of those HDM units for my 2k, but now the 3k is in the pipeline the position is different, especially if it is (as suspected) a USB Host which (I also suspect) would allow the use of "pendrive" USB devices for portable storage.
