Another great alternative is to purchase a soft case that is about four inches longer and wider than your keyboard. Then, purchase some inch-thick sheets of Ethafoam, which is somewhat rigid and construct a box that fits tight against the inner wall of the case. You can then velcro an inch-thick sheet of closed-cell foam rubber, which comes in various colors including dark gray, inside the bag's top. This gives you much of the protection and rigidity of a hard case, plus only adds about two pounds to the weight of the three-pound soft case. The cost of the foam is about $25 and the cost of the case ranges $35 to $55, depending on size. I've made two of these and they work fantastic.
Cheers,
Gary
