After reading your posts about this beta upgrade for the 9000 I decided to call the product manager at Yamaha here in the USA to get the information regarding how the upgrade will be marketed. His response to me was that indeed this upgrade will be available from the Yamaha PK Club site and there will be no charge and yes the chain song mode has been implemented and in software rather than in hardware which is what Yamaha thought would be needed a few months ago. As soon as the Beta version is approved, they will make this upgrade available to all.
