I'm not sure why Yamaha changed the buttons...I liked the ones on my old 3k.

I do however like the rubber buttons on the S900 because they seem to be grippier than the old ones and my fingers don't slip on them in the heat of a performance.

They do require a more positive push...but being just above the keys, that's probably a good thing as there will not be any unexpected surprises.

At first I almost questioned if the upgrade from 3k to S900 was worth it...but after spending some time with the latter, I am positive I made the right decision.

I too had a 2k, a 510(great styles) and the 4500...they were very nice, but the S900 is a new breed of instrument.

Hopefully the T3 will offer all of the things you wished for...it's a great list.
