Thanks to everyone for the replies, I've had DSL for a couple of weeks now and really see no noticeable difference except the DSL is more reliable. I don't have to keep resetting the modem like I did with cable.
And like Fran said when the cable goes down or the power goes out I still have the dsl (on a ups).
