A good thought. It has been sitting in my rack unused for two years, and then only channels 1-3 were used.

On the other hand, my trusty old Mackie 1202 was hauled off the shelf after six years and works like new. For reliability, I see why Donnie likes Mackies.

Since mixers have few working parts, I would think, in my case, inactivity may be the culprit. I am sure that a good cleaning of both units are past overdue.
