Let me clarify.
There is essentially NO difference between a K2000 and a K2000VP, though it is likely that the K2000VP will have a current OS.
The name was changed to K2000VP when the price dropped and when they started packaging it with 2MB of sample RAM and the 30 disk Analog collection. Otherwise they are identical.
Like the K2000, the K2000VP can be expanded with the optional ROM blocks (orchestal and contemporary) and each can take 64MB of sample RAM for loading in samples via SCSI or floppy. The sampling option itself is optional.
The K2VX does come standard with the optional ROM blocks and sequencer memory (PRAM) expansion and you do save money by going this route.
