Yes, we sent a rover before, unfurtunatly it did not have the capabilities to take samples or test anything. All of that stuf was on the lander. So this time they made much larger rovers and placed a ton of testing equepment on them. Also the first rover failed fairly quickly, giving us limited info. These new guys will give us more info than we will be able to digest for quite some time.
