DonM, I sure hope (for your sake) that you didn't make a mistake either. As you already know, I auditioned the SD1 at great lengths (on several occasions) and though I was impressed by the 76 keys & keyfeel as well as its relative lightweight, it's all those exact same sized/shaped buttons lined up in a row & awkward OS navigation that really turned me off. In addition, the SD1's overall sound appeared (to me) a bit muffled and boomy to boot. Interestingly enough, Andrea Rotolo (Dreamer) who had owned an SD1, traded it in for a Tyros. He has stated that he was glad he switched to the Tyros because the Tyros has much cleaner voice samples, but also that the Tyros inspired his playing a lot more as well. Don, considering how much you still say you like the Tyros alot, why mess with a good marriage? I suppose you're looking for a little exotic action, right?. I'm anxiously looking forward to hearing your candid impressions re the SD1. Will this be a whole NEW love for you, or just a brief romp in the hay?
