"My One And Only Love."
I have this with John Coltrane playing this (without too many notes Dave) from the 60's I think. His approach intonation technique and feeling on this tune makes my hair stand up. Johnny Hartmann is the vocalist.

But, some folks today are going to think Rod Stewart invented this tune and it was a great tune when Rod Stewart was a pup.

It reminds me of when I was 14 years old and trying to tell my Dad that Fats Domino had a brand new tune called "Blueberry Hill." My Dad laughed and told me Hank Williams or Hank Snow did that tune in the 30's or 40's.

My kid still thinks that group some 10 years ago invented "I can't help falling in love with you, and I know Elvis did it in the 50's or 60's and probably someone did it in the 30's or 40's. The good tunes just keep rolling around.

Back to Rod Stewart for all the pups here. All the tunes on some of his newest albums were done by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat Cole and humpteen others in the 20's 30's and 40's.

I still get embarassed when remembering that statement to my Dad. I was trying to make him hipper. Ha!
