I will second your thought about the 76 keys fitting into Tyros-sized board. The space on the left and right of the keyboard is pure waste of space (and the extra weight for the frame). I don't think any of us would use a floppy drive during a performance if the instrument sports a hard disk, so the "convenient floppy caddy" is a misnomer.

If they had asked me, I would suggest getting rid of the floppy drive altogether and providing a slot for the CompactFlash (or the like) card in place of the removeable media, not instead of a hard drive. This would reduce the number of mechanical (read breakable) components, and helped the weight down.
