Ever since CORDOVOX came out with the 'side-by-side' accordion WAY back in the day, I've wondered how accordion players (I was one too) adapted to playing the buttons (left hand side) in a horizontal position ... I don't know if I could have done that ... my CORDOVOX was the standard accordion type ...
