I have alot of customers that use the Roland GK10 (or newer GK20) guitar to midi converter with a GK1 or GK2 pickup and arranger modules.
The Ketron XD3 is one of the best and a lot less expensive than the Generalmusic Genesis XP. You can configure it to work so that when you play a chord on your guitar and play at least 3 strings, the chords will change just like using an arranger keyboard. You can also solo on the guitar or use a synth sound from the module and the chords will hold until you play at least 3 note chords again. This probably will suit your setup the best. Most of my guitar playing customers would much rather do it this way than have to have your two feet being used to change chords and types of chords.
