Everything is fine here. The usual precautions are being taken as with most other parts of the country, searches at airports, federal buildings, military installations, etc.

We first began hearing about it on the 6 a.m. morning news, although listeners of all-night radio and viewers of CNN, etc., probably got the news the moment it happened.

There have been numerous festivals and public celebrations canceled or postponed, and the major sports games have all been put on hold. People are all negative about it of course, and although 5000 away, it does hit home. We are also very aware that Hawaii is a prime military strategic point that would be an ideal target as well.

But otherwise it is life as usual.
