I have been so busy with gigs, kids related stuff and the Holiday that I haven't seriously got to work on it. That said, here are a few initial observations.
1) The touch is heavier than on the T1. I'm guessing I can adjust that, but...its not terribly different. I could learn to live with it, which would help my fingers not go into shock when I play an acoustic piano, lol...
2) The Super Articulation voices are impressive...For me, I think I'll use Sax, trumpets, maybe the guitar the most often. I did not hear that much of a difference in the strings...The SA Sax and the Trumpets are awesome sounding!
3) I like the modified music stand holder they've used on the T2 much better than the one on T1. Hopefully, this one won't snap off anytime soon.
4) Regarding migrating my current song registrations from the T1 to the T2. A few comments.
*I tried playing a couple dozen of my T1 song registrations via a thumb drive and the results were mixed. Depending on what voices I'm using, some of my registrations are incomplete. The MP are very often not appearing and if the voice I've used on the T1 has been changed on the T2...sometimes that's an issue as well.
*So, I think the right way to do this will be to set up both Tyros' and create each song registration I have one by one. Yes, it will be tedious, but I think that will give me the best results possible. I also think I will learn more about the T2 this way than I would if I just accessed all my songs via the thumbdrive. Its a chance for me freshen and tweak some tunes.
*I've set up a couple song registrations on the T2 ... it seems they take a few seconds longer to save once I confirm the save request.
5) I really like the information button that's provided for every voice.
6) The "Select" button for the multipads is a nice time saver to have.
7) The board seems to be heartier. Especially the screen section. T2 feels more solidly built than the T2.
8) I'm going to have the cdrom and a hard drive put in for increased memory and recording purposes.
...I'd love to have a couple days off back to back right now so I could really hunker down and get some work done. I have Thursday off, so hopefully there won't be too much running around so I can spend a lot of time with it.
