Hi Gang:
Once again I find myself relying on the inexhaustible (invaluable) knowledge of this group.
My wife has made a pledge of giving me one of the best presents any lucky guy in this business could ever hope for:A Yamaha Grand piano! (love my wife to death)
Ive found a 1973 Yamaha G5 (6"6') completely rebuilt and with a 1 yr warranty, and not a blemish on it which I comptemplating buying. Its in mint condition and delivered to my living room at no extra cost.
I have not played it (its out of state) but the owner claims it sounds as good as any brand new yammie.
My first question is, are this pianos a good era for Yamaha building their well renowned pianos?
Second, what could be a fair price for this piano. I dont want to pay more than its worth.
Simon, Scottyee, UD, anyone, could you offer some insight on the subject?
(I am dreaming about doing some incredible recordings with this "puppy")
Thanks guy,
Mario
