Hi Larry,
sometimes it's safer not touch some of the controllers unless you know exactly what it is you want to do.
A lot of the ones you've mentioned I've never heard of either.
The only ones I'm game to alter are

7 volume
10 pan
11 expression
91 reverb
93 chorus
patch, msb & lsb ( bank & program changes).
and of course notes.
