Hello Dennis
Wine is a program for Linux that allows you to run a lot of Windows programs; (Including sequencers like Cubase) if you pop over to this site
http://www.winehq.org/ you will get all the details including an application compatibility list.
Don’t expect to use Native Linux like Windows, as although it looks the same you need to have a lot more knowledge to get the best out of it. (The reason the Mediastaion runs pretty smoothly on it, is because of the amount of hours and work put in by Dominic and other Mediastation Engineers)
The Golden rule is, unless you want to get your hands dirty, or really hate Windows, don’t bother with Linux.
If after the above you still want to try Linux, make sure you install it on separate partitions, and have your computer as a Dual Boot system.
Hope this helps
Bill
