Richard,

Try using the song transpose instead of the master transpose in the FUNCTION/CONTROLLER settings. NOTE: You can't hear the effect while you're recording, but it comes out transposed on playback. Also remember, you're recording (and transposing) keystroke, not sound so transposing down is actually transposing up. You'll see what I mean when you try it.
