I tried the Emin7 last night on my PSR550 in 1st inversion (where I would prefer to play it) and it identified it as a G6. To play an Emin7 I had to play it in root position (yes, root note at the bottom). You don't have to play it in root position on arranger keyboards. You have to play it in root position on YAMAHA arranger keyboards.

To be fair to Yamaha though, G,B,D,E is G6 in root position. I'm not sure what you would have to do on other arranger keyboards to play a G6.

Maybe Yamaha is correct and all the others are wrong!!! But, Minor7th chords are more prevalent then 6's.
