This is always a very risky ground to venture on and of course it's highly subjective... however, since I own an SD1 and have played a Genesys, all I can say is that the SD1 has better and more usable styles, while the Genesys has an edge in a few sound categories (especially the electric pianos and the saxophones). I have to say that I haven't played the Genesys enough to venture into a more detailed analysis. If I owned just the SD1 I would consider the Genesys as an add-on to my setup, but since I own other gear as well, I didn't consider the Genesys because it would have been be a duplicate of things I already have.
Good luck with your choice.
Andrea
