I still prefer the sound of tube amplification, even in leslie effects. I keep a 147RV working, and for portable set-ups, I use a Motion sound tube driven top box, with a Fender bassman for the bottom. To me, this produces a much more authentic sound than transistor power. I'm the same way with guitar amplification. For some reason, transistor power dosen't bother me as much with bass guitar.
