I've read numerous review on the M-Audio keybeds. Apparently this model and the model below it with 88 semi-weighted keys and only 7 sounds have good reviews. It's their other models "especially" their $199.00 88 key semi-weighted USB controllers that are "junk".
I did actually suggest one of the Casio model to him. He wants the unit to at least have pitchbending (I suggested the PX-555 as well for him to consider).
Personally I think midi controllers are a rip off! I can't believe the prices on some of them (no sounds, sequencers, ect), just keys with some buttons, sliders, switches, and so on. I've seen these things top $1,000. WOW!
