Adi... Does it happen often enough that if you borrowed a UPS, you would know quickly if the problem was solved?
My 'feelings' on this one are different... it sounds VERY much like a bad power supply, and one of the axioms of troubleshooting is 'try the cheap solutions first'... BORROW a UPS, and try that first. No cost at all...
Then next, before you take it to a repair man, just get another power supply. If it fixes the problem, you actually SAVED money. If it doesn't, you STILL have a backup for the future.
