Dave - my 2000 has developed a nasty hiss too. Sadly it's making the noise all the time, unrelated to whether keys are being pressed.

Makes no hiss when the headphones are on.

Anyone else with this?

(btw, it's a good reason to buy a 3000 if I ever needed one...)
