On Sunday eve, I played a private outdoor dinner/dance for a group of about 50 friends over in neighboring Indiana. Very hot...very breezy and lots of bugs but we got through it ok...

Or so I thought...

Got to today's show...a Christmas in July party at a nice retirement community. The first sign that something was wrong was when I pulled up a registration for the "Christmas Song" and found it to be empty. I tried to load it again...and it still didn't work. I turned my Tyros off/on...tried a 3rd time...no luck.

This type thing had happened at another outdoor gig earlier this year but turning it off/on DID fix the problems and it behaved just fine. Of my 30 or so Xmas song registrations-two were still there in title only...the file had no registration load like they should.

Any ideas?

Now before you think that that's the end of my story. Something else happened at the end of the show...

I take you back to last night...I know I saw at least 2 very small insects crawl into the innards of my Tyros during the job yesterday. I presumed they would either drawl back out or just die. Well, at the end of the Xmas show today...I start packing up...I glance down at my keyboard and I see a cricket...

Yeah, that's right...a cricket!

It's climbed out from down below the modulation wheel and is looking up at me. I try to grab it...and it dives back into the inside of my Tyros.

I guess I'm a duo now, eh?

This ever happen to anyone else?

Can a cricket do any damage to the inside of the keyboard? Or rather, will he eventually just die from lack of food?

How hard is it to take apart the KB in the way I'd need to to find this little guy and send him on his way?

If you can help with either problem, I'd appreciate it...

(Honest to God, I didn't make any of this up, I swear...)
