I own the original HK LUCAS (600 Watt - 15'' sub). This has been my main PA for the last three years. Presently, there is a wide range of LUCAS systems, based in the original LUCAS concept. The LUCAS 600 presently in the catalogs has the same power as the original LUCAS but doesn't include the 15'' sub anymore. In its place a 12'' sub (size matters!).

I used this PA in jobs ranging from 50 to 400 people and prefer the sound of this system over the usual 2 x bi-amp speakers (even the Mackies SRM 450). It's a little too heavy for small jobs (but the sub has wheels making it very transportable), so I'm considering purchasing its little brother, the LUCAS XT. For some small jobs I bring my Motion Sound KP200S, but the LUCAS XT sounds better.

In my opinion, the two best qualities of this equipment are: a) very well balanced and punchy sound at ALL volumes - little or no need of equalization; b) unbeatable ratio quality/price (at least in Europe). HK is made in Germany.
