Yo Mainer,

Did you pick up the one that mythras was selling?

Whether or not, good call! I hope you enjoy it. Maybe you can record some music and share with us.(?)

I had another listen this morning to the piano samples (don't know why, slow mornin' I guess) on http://www.svpworld.com/tyrospiano.htm comparing the Tyros, Genesys, and my board, the WK8. I wasn't happy with the sample of the Genesys that they are using (about 15 seconds of dead silence in the beginning and way, way too low of volume) so I grabbed a copy of the .mp3 and tweaked it just a bit with Sound Forge. All I did was normalize the volume so it was on the same scale as the Tyros and WK8 (I provided the sample of the WK8 so I know what levels I was looking for). I didn't change anything else, no effects, equalizing, no nothing. It's better but it really needs to be re-recorded with the correct volume from the get-go.

Here's a sample if you are interested.

Bottom line is I like what I hear from the Genesys. Very delicate, very airy yet still powerful. I like the tonal quality of this piano. I like the placement of where the piano sounds come from...The effects the engineers applied...Trying to reproduce that, "What a real piano would sound like." Someone said they might have been sampling one of the Pro Mega's.(?)

Anyway, I like it and I hope you will too.

Have fun!
