Don't worry, I get this all the time, everytime a space ship goes by...Just kidding.

Check to see if the wind is blowing outside when this happens. The power connections to your home should be checked and retightened periodacally,(heat and cold causes expansion and contraction will loosen lugs) A slight breeze moving the wires will cause static, and arcing making this sound.

Call your power company for a free check and lug tightening from transformer to the meter. (most power CO.'s does this free)

meter/service intrance box should be retightened every few years also..........Cheers....Pose
