That is great advice KFingers. It is even true within the Yamaha family of products. When upgrading from the 2K to the 3K I lost almost 4 months fiddling & tweaking styles, registrations, EQ, mic settings, etc., only to come to the conclusion the 3K was pretty well tuned from the get-go.

If you play out using external amp and speakers, that is how you want to listen to the 3k before tweaking. There is a big difference between what I hear from the onboard vs. externals, especially when I crank it up for live performance.
