Hi Tapas:

It's important to note that Yamaha only recommends "ECC" type PC133 dimm memory, and that the memory be installed in 'pairs'.

I've got two of the following 2 512MB DIMMs installed in my Tyros2:

KVR133X72C3/512 ECC Memory

Kingston's designation for their "ECC" memory is X72, and for their "non-ECC" memory is X64. Their non-ECC memory equivilent is: KVR133X64C3/512 Non-ECC Memory, so DON'T purchase that one. btw: ECC stands for: error correction code.

Purchased mine from: MWave back in Nov 2006 at a good price then. You may find it cheaper elsewhere.

Hard drive: I have installed in my T2 & recommend a Samsung MP603H or any of the Samsungs on Yamaha's T2 HD compatibility list and sticking with the 4200RPM vs 7200RPM drive as 7200RPM is noisier and you will not benefit from the speed increase due to the speed limitation (response) of the Tyros2 OS itself. Read more about my recommendations re: Tyros2 HD here .

If you need any help with installing, call me. There are a couple of tricks I'll share with ya.

Scott
