The EV SxA100's have external vent fins too, but I've never experienced a problem with them shutting down on me. At $349/ea(Guitar Center close out special) the SxA100's are truly a FANTASTIC bargain and my portable PA of choice. It delivers great sound in a small easy to transport package.
