I'd say they did a pretty fair job on the PA80, and I believe the voices are the same between the PA80 and PA50. This is one group of sounds that I thought the older Yamaha arrangers I had owned or had played fell just a little short. That in itself is a little surprising to me, as the organs on the Motif ES sound very good to me, especially the C3 voice, but there are no drawbars....
Of all things, by far the Casio MZ2000 had my favorite arranger Hammond sounds, along with mechanical ( real ) sliders to control the drawbars. It was one of the big selling points. I turned it on while visiting a music store in NYC, and started playing some of the organ parts from ELP's KarnEvil 9 on it, and I was very surprised by the sound that was coming out. Unfortunately many of the styles weren't all that good on it.
I'm in the group that doesn't care for the PA series pianos btw. Yuck!!! ( for me anyway ..lol ). I don't like the electrics much better either. I do still like many of the styles, and the PA80 feels and sounds nice for ripping out a nice organ solo.
