The only transition I would want would be a fill-in that changes the style feel. I think a morphing would be horrible. Try writing a fill in that is not so specific to the first style....maybe that will help you. I can't imagine ever hearing two styles playing together ... even faded.
As for tempo woes .... registrations are the answer to that one.
