Always glad to listen to you Terry. I'm always amazed at your influx of ideas..
On the ES ... almost certain Terry, ( just the added poly is a big deal for me ) although as always other priorities have funds going elsewhere, and despite my recent bashing of it, I'm really having second thoughts about selling the 2000 now.. I find the multipads and some of the styles ( and even a few sounds ) to be very useful and I can control the board with the Motif or PA80 in the studio, so key feel isn't that big a deal anymore. I still want a backup rig for the PA80 for the occasional live thing I do.. so... What I think I might do is find me a really cheapy Casio WK series ( 76 key and used is ok by me ) and use it to control the PSR and just keep the danged thing. Besides, my studio looks better with 3 or 4 boards rather than two...lol. Then I'll sell the Mo and somehow find the extra funds.
Oh BTW, I tried that Fantom S again and I really want to love that thing, because the OS is just so logical and cool, but some of the sounds are fair and a few downright offensive. I'm a big fan of the "Wurly", 70's style Clavi, and Rhodes sounds. The Motif does them so well.. The Fantom has the worst Wurly sound I've ever heard, and the other two aren't very impressive for me either. The rock organs .. just as bad..
What a shame, such a cool concept.. sigh. The kb guy at the store ( who is a very decent player in his own right ) hadn't messed with it much but when I played it in front of him, it appears he and I heard the same things..
