Using those same 8 beats all night works BEST when you are NOT tied to an arranger pattern. Back in the day, I played nothing but manual bass and RH chords, so there was NO repitition when using the same beat. Think about it - there has to be 30 or 40 songs you can do with EXACTLY the same drum beat, as long as the rhythm and accents change according to the song style.

That's my madness, anyway!
