And you are right indeed: even if the song was originally written by Jorge Ben, it was the first version by Sergio Mendes that I had in my mind when I thought of the arrangement (many years later Mendes did another version, included in one of his compilations, but I like the first one much more).
Since you have a fast connection and you are also a percussionist, I suggest that you download the "live" version, found on the "Brazil 2003" page of my website. The sound quality is very poor and I am barely audible, but I am sure that you will enjoy what the two percussionists were able to do.
