Hi Shakil

I think everyone would agree that new and better sounds are desired. However, everyone wants different things. That is why expandability is important. The Roland JV and XV synths, the Triton Rack, and the Proteus variants all permit people to pick new sounds to suit their tastes. Two possibilities for Yamaha arrangers, based on rumors and other models, would be the expansion boards and the SmartMedia cards used in the S80 and elsewhere by Yamaha.

Of course, it is not enough to provide slots. There has to be a library of alternatives to plug in. For the internal slot(s) there is formant synthesis and VL synthesis which provide a wide range of unusual sounds. For the wave rom, I would like some Asian sounds and some Choir (as in two of the Roland JV series boards.)

On the other hand, I have to admit I have come nowhere close to exhausting the sonic possibilities of the synths I already have, e.g., the PSR-8000 and the Wavestation AD.
