Hi,

If you are just trying to update the memmory from 4mb you can use pretty much any standard 72 pin simm available from computer suppliers.

There is a list of compatible memmory devices on EMUs web site but this is not kept very up to date.

I guess you have two memory slots on the unit (I have an ESI-32 but that takes older 30 pin simms) and should get two identicle simms.

People make a lot of fuss about compatibility of simms for samplers. When I was purchasing my E6400 Ultra several dealer were trying to convince me that I should be their supplied 128mb upgrade for about £300. I bought the upgrade from a PC supplier for £88 though RAM prices have gone up since.

You are in the US and I am in the UK so there is little point in me saying where you can get them here. The computer supplier I use has a suitable 64Mb simm available for around $100 so two would give you 128Mb (go for that now as 72 pin simms will be come scarce and expensive as they have pretty much come to the end of their life in the PC)

I think the confusion here relates to your comment on flash ROM. Flash ROM authoring is an option on the E4 machines but looking at the on line datasheet this is not an option on the ESI-2000.

To expand the memmory to 128Mb you need two SIMM 64Mb (16Mx32) EDO 60ns.
