You can add a lot to any voice with digital effects--but in most instances, if you cannot carry a tuna in a five-gallon bucket there's no synth in the world that will make you sound like Donny or Sinatra. For those that have a relatively good voice, the sysths can transform that good voice quality into incredible.

In some instances, I suggested to some wannabe vocalist that they head for the nearest community college and take voice lessons. The courses are usually well taught by professionals who not only teach you voice control, but additionally they can expand your vocal range, teach you how to correctly breathe while singing, show you techniquest that help you improve your timing and keep you on key. All that for about $100--it's a real bargain!
