So sorry to hear such news. I myself am "borderline" Type II diabetic if I don't watch my weight and work out steadily, which I have been doing for decades now and thus able to keep it at arm's length -- but it is always only an arm's length away. However your foster daughter developing this at only 15 sounds like she was latent Type I which is unfortunate.
