I used the 2100 for the first time on the job with amplification..Overall report card score...70..I was very disapointed with sequences[doing drum mix to correct drums on the fly].The volume mix of the GM patches are not uniform , making the sequences weak..I guess I know why 90% of sequence makers use GS[Roland] followed by Korg, and just about no entrys from Yamaha[I am referring to commercial sequences]..There is some kind of annoying phase problem that modulates while playing sequences[I guess DSP problems]that make it unacceptable. Even the Vocalizer did not measure up with powered speakers..I did like the 2100 with it's own speakers at a moderate level, but amplification shows the true colors..Maybe it was unfair to compare it to other boards{G1000}, after all$11-1200 range does make it a pretty good "rich kid's toy"... I am not going to rework and worry about all the fixes during performance...It stays at home untill Donny takes it..There is absolutely no reason to use the 2100 instead of my G1000 or even the EM2000 I use in the band..After playing the 2100[key feel,,I can not get use to] it is such a pleasure playing Roland....I tried to like it, but to no avail..Personally I even think the sounds are average, and E pianos are way to thin..If Donny does not want it after my report card...Make an offer..
