Not really, on both my one time Korg I3 and SD1, I split the keyboard for arranger chord on the left hand, and do after touch on the right, and it does not affect the chord part at all. But mainly I tend to use after touch on my non arranger more, and yes it's good for adding vibrato or even Wah wah as well, not so good on switching slow to fast leslie.
