The PSR-550 is well worth looking at and goes for under $500. It has a PC compatible disk drive and can play GM & XG midi files that you can create or download from the Internet and save to disk on your PC. It also has the same 16 track Yamaha sequencer which is a pain to use but at least it is there is you want to throw down an idea when you are away from your computer. But on returning home I would simply save it as a midi file and load it into a PC sequencer for editing and working on. Editing on the keyboard is minimal.
