I think trance and urban dance styles use a lot of sampling to get that 'fresh' quality, and having a large selection of contemporary drum sounds and loops is what makes that style kick.....

The T2's sampler is very basic, and there is little aftermarket support for it's closed format, whereas the PA1X reads Akai format, giving you access to a vast supply of cutting edge sounds and beats.......

But, what do we know?! Go and try both extensively, and make up your own mind. Just remember, unless you fall in love with the built-in techno sounds, you are going to sooner or later need to put new sounds into it.......
