Scott: We recently put together 2 small risers, approx. 4' x 3' but they could be made larger if we wanted. basically a folding framework(hinged) to fold up flat for transport. When opened up, plywood sheeting lays on top with stops to prevent movement. They set up in seconds, and really do add to the visual image for the band.
For my solo stuff, I usually stand as I'm doubling on guitar as well, plus the bench takes up much needed room 'cos my feet are surrounded by pedals as it is. ,
